‘Lux Superstar’ returns after 7 years

The popular reality show 'Lux Superstar', which has introduced many well-known faces to Bangladesh's entertainment industry, is making a comeback after seven years. Stars like Zakia Bari Momo, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Bidya Sinha Mim, and Mehazabien Chowdhury all started their careers through this platform. Now, the search for a new star begins again with the return of this iconic show.

The first season of 'Lux Superstar' was held in 2005, and Shanu (Shanarei Devi Shanu) was the winner. In the following years, talents like Momo, Badhon, Bindu, Mim, Mehazabien, and Moushumi Hamid emerged from the show. Today, they are active in dramas, advertisements, and films.

The competition was held annually until 2010, but then became irregular. It returned briefly in 2012 and again in 2018, when Mim Mantasha won the title. Since then, the show has remained off-air for seven years.

Now, 'Lux Superstar 2025' is finally launching. Registration opened on May 6 and will continue until June 5. Women aged between 18 and 27 can participate in the competition. To register, applicants need to visit the designated link shared on the Lux Bangladesh Facebook page.

To keep up with the times, changes have been made to the competition format. This year, in addition to acting and styling, emphasis will also be placed on content creation.

Popular actress Jaya Ahsan, 2009 Lux Superstar winner Mehazabien Chowdhury, and filmmaker Raihan Rafi will serve as judges and mentors for the contestants.

Mehazabien Chowdhury shared a promotional video on Lux’s Facebook page and wrote, “When I participated in this platform in 2009, I was very nervous. But this platform gave me courage and confidence. I’ll be with the new participants from start to finish.”

Promotional content for the competition also features Bidya Sinha Mim, Ishrat Zahin, Mumtahina Toya, and Nilanjana Neela. Organizers said more details will be revealed soon through a press conference.
