Main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation held at National Eidgah
The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the National Eidgah adjacent to the High Court in the capital with appropriate religious solemnity and festive atmosphere.
The congregation was held at 8:30 am on Monday (March 31).
Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, served as the Imam, and Muazzin Muhammad Habibur Rahman of Baitul Mukarram was the Qari.
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus offered prayers at the National Eidgah.
The Eid congregation was attended by thousands of worshippers, including the Chief Justice, Supreme Court and High Court Division judges, members of the Advisory Council, political leaders, senior government officials, diplomats from various Muslim countries.
Dhaka City Corporation informed that this year, arrangements were made for 35,000 worshippers to perform Eid congregational prayers together in the main pandal of 25,400 square meters at the National Eidgah. In addition, there was a separate prayer arrangement for women at the Eidgah.
Meanwhile, in addition to the National Eidgah, there are a total of five congregational prayers at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. According to the Islamic Foundation, the Eid congregational schedule at Baitul Mukarram is at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 10:45 am.
