Major changes in fuel prices from Thursday: Nasrul Hamid

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that Bangladesh is going to see a major change in the price of fuel oil from Thursday through the introduction of a new automatic system of monthly price adjustment in accordance with the international market.

He said this to reporters after visiting various ongoing projects of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation at Patenga in Chattogram on Wednesday (March 6).

He said, "There is going to be a big change in the price of fuel oil in Bangladesh from tomorrow. Prices will be determined on the first week of every month through automated management. There will be cost savings also if automated management and administration can be introduced. If there is no change in the world market, the price of oil will fall further.”

However, the state minister did not clarify how much the price will decrease.

Mentionable, on March 1, March of this year, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a directive for adjustment of fuel oil prices every month. In that direction, it was announced to re-determine the price of fuel in coordination with the international market from this month.
