Malaysia deports 45 Bangladeshis detained at Kuala Lumpur Airport
Malaysia has deported 45 Bangladeshis who were detained at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. They were sent back to Bangladesh on Wednesday (local time).
According to an AKPS statement, the detained individuals claimed to be tourists but did not head toward the immigration counters. Instead, they were found wandering around the airport's food outlets and other areas, which raised suspicions that they were waiting for someone. Later, 45 Bangladeshis, 16 Pakistanis, and 7 Indians were taken to the immigration office at the airport. After reviewing their documents, they were denied entry into Malaysia and issued a "Notice to Leave."
The statement also noted that between January and February 18, the airport's surveillance team had screened 2,654 foreign nationals, 900 of whom were found not to be legitimate tourists and were denied entry.
It further said that tourists seeking to enter Malaysia must adhere to the established rules; failure to do so will result in being sent back to their home country. The country will continue to enforce strict surveillance at international entry points to maintain border security.
