Manchester City’s impressive 32-match unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end on Saturday as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

The Cherries’ goals came from Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson, marking a significant victory as it was their first win over City in 15 attempts, contrasting sharply with their previous 14 meetings, where City had outscored them 45-7.

Semenyo opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a low finish following a cross from Milos Kerkez. Evanilson doubled the lead in the 64th minute, also benefiting from Kerkez’s assist, reports The Express Tribune.

City managed to pull a goal back in the 82nd minute when Josko Gvardiol headed in Ilkay Gundogan's cross, with the ball deflecting off the bar into the net.

Despite late attempts to equalise, including a close-range shot from Erling Haaland that hit the post in injury time, City could not find another goal.

As a result of the loss, City fell to second place in the league standings with 23 points, two points behind Liverpool, while Bournemouth moved up to eighth.
