March to Jamuna: TNZ Group workers block Kakrail intersection

Nearly 500 workers of eight factories under TNZ Group have blocked the Kakrail Mosque intersection, demanding their due salaries and other payments.

Earlier on Tuesday, they began their protest programme "March to Jamuna" from Gazipur and took position in front of Kakrail mosque, causing traffic congestion on the road.

Assistant Commissioner of the Ramna police division Abdullah Al Mamun said that the workers were obstructed around 3pm while the procession was heading toward the chief adviser's resident State Guest House Jamuna.

The protesters demanded clearing all dues to the workers and staff similar to the reported tripartite agreement of five companies of the Dird Group, which were closed about 18 months ago.
