Mashiur appointed as secretary of Post and Telecommunication Division

Dr. Md Mashiur Rahman has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunication Division. The Ministry of Public Administration issued the transfer order in a notification on Tuesday (June 11).

Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Authority in the Prime Minister's Office. Before that, he was the Director General (DG) of the Islamic Foundation.

Dr. Md Mashiur Rahman has replaced the current secretary, Abu Hena Morshed Zaman. Abu Hena Morshed Zaman has been transferred to the position of Secretary of the Local Government Division.

On April 25, 1994, Mushfiqur Rahman began his career as an officer in the 13th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration Cadre).

Over his 27-year career, he has served in various positions within field administration and at the ministry level. As an additional secretary in the Cabinet Division, he has successfully coordinated multiple government and private sector initiatives. His contributions span the Road Transport and Highways Division, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and various innovative and service-oriented information and communication technology projects. Additionally, he has played a significant role in education and development activities, disaster response and social security programs, and the implementation of law and order protection initiatives.

Mashiur Rahman was born in the Bogra district. He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh. He later earned a Master's in Governance and Development from BRAC University and a PhD from Bangladesh Agricultural University.
