Massive fire breaks out at S Alam sugar refinery

A fire broke out at the warehouse of S Alam Refined Sugar Mills in the Isanagar area of Karnaphuli upazila in Chattogram.

Shoaib Hossain Munshi, warehouse inspector of Karnaphuli Fire Station, confirmed.

He said the fire broke out at 3pm on Monday and upon receiving information 12 units of firefighters rushed to the spot and were working to control the blaze.

Details regarding the incident could not be known immediately. However, the firefighters feared that some people may receive burns and called ambulance.
