Mehazabien barred from opening Chattogram showroom

Popular Actress Mehazabien Chowdhury was supposed to open a showroom called Khuki Lifestyle on RS Road in Chattogram city. She also reached Chattogram from Dhaka quite early.

However, a group of people protested the opening of the showroom by her. She was supposed to be there at 2 pm on Saturday. However, she did not go there as she feared deterioration of the situation.

Earlier on October 29, she posted a video message on her verified Facebook page about the opening of Khuki Lifestyle Showroom. After his announcement, various discussions started across the city.

But, several people identifying them as general trader and tawhidi people warned her of resistance.

The traders of Riazuddin Bazar later shared a banner on their Facebook timeline saying: "They strongly condemned and protested the decision to open the showroom with actress Mehazabin. If the showroom authorities do not withdraw from this decision, traders and tawhidi people will mount strong resistance against it."

Tarek Aziz, public relations officer of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), said that the Khuki Lifestyle showroom was inaugurated the previous day by a religious leader. Businessmen and Tawhidi people were angry with the news of opening the showroom with the actress the next day. Because of this, they kept warning Mehazabeen not to come to the inauguration ceremony. Later after knowing the matter, the showroom was inaugurated without the actress."
