Metrorail running time increase from today
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has decided to run Metrorail even after 9:00pm.
According to the new schedule, the last train will leave from Uttara North station at 9:00pm today (March 27) and the last train will leave from Motijheel station at 9:40pm, DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique told the media yesterday afternoon.
He said, “From tomorrow, to the day before the Eid-ul-Fitr, the time limit of metro rail will increase by one hour. Ten more trains will run due to the additional hours. The total number of metro movements will be 194 times per day, carrying 4,47,752 passengers a day.”
Until yesterday, the metro rail ran from 7:00am to 8.40pm.
Metrorail in Dhaka runs every eight minutes during peak hours (7:00am to 11:30am and 2:00am to 8:00pm). And from 11:00am to 2:30pm during off peak hours, it runs every 12 minutes.
