'Mike' to be screened in New York

After winning the South Asian Best Feature Film award at the Golden Leaf International Film Festival and Seoul Global Film Festival, 'Mike' will now be screened in New York.

The children's film 'Mike' will be screened on Sunday (April 21) next at the Tarek Masud Hall of the 'Suchitra Sen International Film Festival' being organized at Jamaica Performing Arts Centre in New York City, according to a social media post of the director and producer of the film FM Shahin.

He invited everyone living in New York to watch the movie 'Mike' at the Suchitra Sen International Film Festival.

The 'Suchitra Sen International Film Festival' is going to be held at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in New York for two days, Saturday and Sunday (April 20 and 21).

Some 438 films from Bangladesh and India were submitted in this great festival of Bengali cinema. From among them, 39 films in three categories (feature, short and documentary) have been selected for exhibition by eminent filmmakers and jurys of different countries. 'Mike' is one of them.

Earlier, 'Mike' won awards in four categories at the Port Blair International Film Festival. These include 'Best Actor', 'Best Debut Director', 'Best Debut Feature Film', and 'Best Producer'. Mike also won the 'Best International Feature Film' and 'Best Director/Feature Film' categories at the Kollywood International Film Festival India.

The film has already received a nomination at the Moscow International Children's Film Festival. It has been officially selected for being screened at Indo French Film Festival and Triangle Film Festival.

Famous actor Tariq Anam Khan, film hero Ferdous Ahmed, actress Tanvin Sweety, actors Nader Chowdhury, Jhuna Chowdhury, Jayita Mahalanbish, Sangeeta Chowdhury, Rahim Sumon, Iqbal Hossain, child artist Sanjid Rahman Khan, Ali Abdullah Dayan Bhuiyan, and Khondkar Megh Jalil have acted in the film.

Mentionable, 'Mike' is a full-length children's film made with the grant of the Bangladesh government, centered on the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Analysts believe that the new generation will know the history through the film.
