The Ministry of Lands has officially stated that the rumors regarding the cancellation of the digital land survey project are false. This clarification was provided through a notification released by the ministry on Monday, December 25th.

The circular emphasizes that the 'Bangladesh Digital Survey' program is being implemented through two projects to efficiently conduct the survey across Bangladesh. One of these projects is the 'Capacity Building Digital Survey Project (CDP Project)' by the Department of Land Records and Surveys, which focuses on digital land surveying.

According to the circular, the expenditure on the CDP project is claimed to be 336 crore taka, but in reality, only 3 crore 69 lakh taka has been spent so far on various aspects such as vehicles, office equipment, salaries, and allowances for officials and employees. This indicates that the physical progress of the project is only 0.28 percent, with a financial expenditure of 3 crores 59 lakhs, which is equivalent to 0.30 percent of the total project cost of 1 thousand 212.55 crores.

Furthermore, the circular mentions that the experimental survey work in Itbaria Mauza of Patuakhali has already been completed under the CDP project.

A report titled "Cancellation of digital land survey project after spending 336 crore taka" was recently published by a media outlet. Additionally, this report has been widely circulated online through various channels.

Ministry of Lands stated that, the commencement of these projects was significantly hindered due to the onset of the global coronavirus pandemic in the country. As a result, the progress of these projects was severely affected.
