Mirzapur Police Station ASI suspended for negligence

Mirzapur Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Atiquzzaman has been suspended for negligence in the incident of robbery and molestation on a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.

Mirzapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mosharraf Hossain confirmed this information on Saturday afternoon.

ASI Atiquzzaman was on duty as the duty officer on the day of the incident.

It is learned that some of the victim bus passengers came to Mirzapur Police Station in the early hours of February 18 and informed the duty officer about the robbery on the bus. Although he left a few minutes later, the duty officer did not leave any information about their names, addresses or mobile numbers. Due to this, the victim bus passenger's case had to be taken up three days after the incident.

Tangail Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman suspended ASI Atiquzzaman. He was reportedly withdrawn from Mirzapur police station that night.
