Miscreants set fire to primary school in Gazipur
Miscreants set fire to a tin-shaded classroom of late Abdul Jabbar Government Primary School in Gazipur, at start of 48-hour strike called by BNP. The incident has taken place in Barmi Union of Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur. Some benches, electric fans were blazed and tin fences were damaged.
The headmaster of the school, Masudul Karim Tipu, confirmed the matter to the media. He said that early in the morning, he got the news of fire from a local person and he put out the fire with the help of the locals.
The tin shed classroom was built next to the main building of the school six months ago and students were being taught, he added. Miscreants broke the window of the classroom and set it on fire early Sunday morning.
However, Sreepur Upazila Primary Education Officer Fatema Nasreen said that the damaged classrooms will be repaired soon. Besides, a written complaint has been lodged at Sreepur police station in this incident
