The vice-chairman aspirant in the upcoming Bijoynagar upazila parishad election in Brahmanbaria, has been found in Narayanganj's Kanchpur area after being reported missing for two days. Bijoynagar police station Officer-in-Charge Asadul Islam confirmed. He said, "We rescued Preeti Khandoker from the Kanchpur area on Thursday (30 May) morning. She is being brought back to Bijoynagar. The circumstances of her disappearance and how she reached Kanchpur remain unclear and will be investigated further." Preeti, 35, went missing on Tuesday (28 May) while campaigning in Harashpur union. Her husband, Masud Khandaker, reported her disappearance to Bijoynagar police on Wednesday (29 May). The Bijoynagar upazila parishad election is scheduled for 5 June.

ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার আসন্ন বিজয়নগর উপজেলা পরিষদ নির্বাচনে দুই দিন নিখোঁজ থাকার পর নারায়ণগঞ্জের কাঁচপুর এলাকা থেকে ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান প্রার্থী প্রীতি খন্দকারের সন্ধান পাওয়া গেছে। বিজয়নগর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) আসাদুল ইসলাম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, বৃহস্পতিবার (৩০ মে) সকালে কাঁচপুর এলাকা থেকে প্রীতি খন্দকারকে উদ্ধার করা হয়। তাঁকে বিজয়নগরে ফিরিয়ে আনা হচ্ছে। তার নিখোঁজ হওয়ার কারণ এবং কীভাবে তিনি কাঁচপুরে পৌঁছেছেন তা এখনও অস্পষ্ট এবং আরও তদন্ত করা হবে। গত মঙ্গলবার (২৮ মে) হরশপুর ইউনিয়নে নির্বাচনী প্রচারণা চালাতে গিয়ে নিখোঁজ হন প্রীতি (৩৫)। বুধবার বিজয়নগর থানায় তাঁর নিখোঁজ হওয়ার অভিযোগ করেন স্বামী মাসুদ খন্দকার।
