Monsoon wind in 6 regions of country, heat wave to reduce
Southwest monsoon has advanced to Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions. As a result, the mild heat wave flowing over nine regions of the country is likely to reduce to some extent.
According to the Meteorological Department weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9am on Monday (June 3), light to moderate rain with temporary gusty winds may occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions in the next 24 hours. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.
The weather forecast signed by Meteorologist Dr Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik also said that a mild heat wave is flowing over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions including Rangpur, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Chandpur, Noakhali, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore and Barishal districts. The ongoing heat wave may moderate in some places. As a result, day and night temperatures are likely to drop slightly across the country.
