A group of assailants attacked a woman with a sharp weapon, while one of her daughters recorded the shocking incident on a smartphone. Her other daughter, just three years old, screamed in fear and ran around in terror.

The incident took place on Thursday night in Kazipara of Sultanpur village under Rauzan Municipality in Chattogram. A video of the attack later went viral on social media, especially Facebook.

The victim has been identified as Tahera Akhter, wife of Abdul Hakim from the same area. After receiving first aid at the Upazila Health Complex, she was transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

On Friday at 2:38 pm, Tahera’s college-going daughter, Sanjida Sathi, uploaded the video on Facebook.

The video shows several men attacking the woman. Hearing her screams, someone pointed a flashlight in the direction, briefly revealing both the attackers and the injured woman.

That night, Tahera’s husband filed a case at the police station, naming three individuals and mentioning 7–8 unidentified attackers.

The main accused, a local deed writer named Golam Dastagir (35), was arrested the same night. Rauzan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam Bhuiyan said the attack resulted from a dispute over land.

Dr. Srabonti Chakraborty, the on-duty physician at the emergency department of Rauzan Upazila Health Complex, said, "The woman sustained head injuries from a sharp weapon. After giving her initial treatment, we referred her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital."
