Mother Language Day not observed at Bishwa-Bharati's Bangladesh Bhaban

International Mother Language Day was not observed at Bishwa-Bharati's Bangladesh Bhaban this year. Even the evening cultural programme has been canceled.

However, the day was celebrated at Bishwa-Bharati's Indira Gandhi National Solidarity Centre.

After the construction of Bangladesh Bhaban in 2017, International Mother Language Day was celebrated every year on February 21. Bangladeshi students from various campuses of Bishwa-Bharati actively participated in it and all the programmes were organised under their supervision.

Meanwhile, a procession was brought out at Bishwa-Bharati on Friday to mark International Mother Language Day. In addition to Bangladeshi students studying in India, teachers and students of Bishwa-Bharati participated in the procession.

After the procession, Bishwa-Bharati's acting public relations officer Atig Ghosh said, "The renovation work of Bangladesh Bhaban is underway. Therefore, the venue of Mother Language Day programme has been changed and celebrated with due dignity at the Indira Gandhi National Solidarity Center."
