Moving car catches fire in Hatirjheel
A fire broke out in a moving vehicle in Hatirjheel in the capital. The fire service received a report of the fire at around 12:25 pm on Tuesday (March 4). However, the fire service vehicle could not reach the spot despite trying for more than half an hour.
Duty Officer of the Fire Service Headquarters Lima Khanam confirmed the matter.
She said that a fire broke out in a moving vehicle on the rise of an overpass in Hatirjheel in the capital. After receiving the report at 12:25 pm, two units were sent to the spot from Tejgaon Station. The fire service vehicle could not reach the spot till 12:50 pm.
She also said that the fire service vehicle is stuck in front of the police plaza. The police have been informed for cooperation.
Eyewitnesses said that a sudden fire broke out in a microbus on the Hatirjheel overpass. As a result, traffic on the relevant road is closed.
Hatirjheel Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Raju said that a private car caught fire on the Hatirjheel Metropolitan Bridge due to a mechanical fault. Traffic on the bridge is currently closed due to the incident. However, no one was injured in the incident.
