Mushfiq doubtful for final 2 ODIs against Afghanistan
Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim is unlikely to play in the final two ODIs of the ongoing three-match series against Afghanistan due to a finger injury.
Reports suggest that Mushfiqur injured his finger while keeping wicket during the 49th over of the first ODI at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. In that match, Bangladesh suffered a heavy 92-run defeat following a dramatic batting collapse.
As a result of the injury, Mushfiqur batted lower in the order, coming in at number seven and scoring just 1 run off 3 deliveries.
Chief Selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain told the media, "Mushfiq has indeed sustained an injury, and it seems to be quite serious. We’ll know the exact length of his absence after tests, but as of now, it appears he won’t be available for the rest of the series."
