Mushfiqur Rahim announces retirement from ODI cricket

Mushfiqur Rahim has finally announced his retirement from international one-day cricket.

After the failure in the Champions Trophy, he became a topic of talk. Such as--With no form, he is old and he should make way for the youngsters. Amidst such discussions, this senior cricketer of the Bangladesh team announced his retirement.

On his official page on social networking site Facebook, this wicketkeeper and batsman wrote: "From today, I am announcing my retirement from ODI format cricket.'

Mushfiqur also wrote: "Alhamdulillah for everything. Our achievements at the international level may be limited, but one thing is for sure, whenever I have stepped on the field for the country, I have tried to play with more than 100 percent. The last few weeks have been very challenging for me. But I understand that this is my destiny."

Mushfiqur made his debut in the Bangladesh ODI team in a match against Zimbabwe in August 2006. After that, this experienced batsman played a total of 274 ODI matches. He scored 7,795 runs. Out of these, there are 9 centuries and 49 fifties.

Mushfiqur has played the most ODI matches for Bangladesh. He is after Tamim Iqbal in terms of scoring runs in this format of cricket. Mushfiqur's personal highest innings in ODIs is 144 runs.
