Muslim ummah's unity crucial for resolving Palestine crisis: FM

Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today (May 4) said, "The unity of the Muslim Ummah can play an important role in solving the Palestinian crisis." He underlined a tougher stance by the OIC member states to permanently end Israeli aggression against the Palestinian population.

Hasan Mahmud came up with the remarks while holding a meeting with the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting of the 15th OIC Summit in the Gambia on Friday, said a press release today.

During the meeting, Mansour provided an overview of the current situation in Palestine and urged Bangladesh to offer steadfast support for Palestine in international forums.

Hasan also conveyed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's strong support, as well as the solidarity of the people of Bangladesh, for the Palestinian cause.

The foreign minister is leading the Bangladesh delegation at the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers.
