Mustafizur Rahman welcomes baby boy

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has welcomed his first child, a baby boy.

On his verified Facebook page and X handle, Mustafiz wrote: ‘Alhamdulillah! By the grace of Allah, we have been blessed by a son. Both the child and the mother are healthy. Pray for them.’

Mustafiz, known as the master cutter, married his maternal uncle’s daughter, Samia Parveen Shimu, in 2019. This is the couple’s first child.

Earlier, the speedster informed that he is unlikely to take part in the upcoming ODI series and T20I series against the West Indies. He asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for leave in the month of December.

The white-ball affair starts with the first ODI on December 8 at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts and finishes with the third T20I on December 19 at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent.
