Nadal eliminated from first round of French Open
Rafael Nadal, widely acclaimed as the unrivaled champion of clay court tennis, was eliminated from the first round of the French Open after a defeat to Alexander Zverev yesterday.
On May 27, he was defeated by Zverev with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
Due to an extreme injury, Nadal has been absent from the court for quite some time. Leading up to his arrival in Paris, his form in several tournaments has not been at its peak.
At 37 years old, Nadal, the 14-time champion at Paris's Red Fort, has lost only four out of 116 matches at Roland Garros. Was that the end of a undisputed king of tennis?
However, Nadal has already hinted at the possibility of retiring from competitive tennis by the end of this season, refraining from providing an absolute assurance.
