NEC approves Tk 265,000 crores ADP for 2024-2025 fiscal year
The National Economic Council (NEC) approved the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the fiscal year of 2024-2025 with an outlay of Tk 265,000 crores.
The approval came from the NEC meeting presided over by NEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the NEC Conference room in capital's Sher-e Bangla Nagar area on Thruda7 (May 16).
Earlier, on March 14, the Planning Commission instructed the preparation of the Annual Development Program (ADP) for the financial year 2024-25. Considering the directive, a total initial demand of tk 2 lakh 76 thousand 402 crore 46 lakh for ADP is received from all the implementing ministries and departments. Out of this, government funding is tk 1 lakh 85 thousand 391 crore 19 lakh and project loan-grant tk 91 thousand 11 crore 27 lakh.
Later, instructions were sent from the finance department. According to that instruction, the ADP for the financial year 2024-25 has been fixed at Tk 2 lakh 65 thousand crores and informed to the activities department. Of this, government funding is tk 1 lakh 65 thousand crores or 62.26 percent. Apart from this, the target of foreign loan-grant to meet the development expenditure is tk 1 lakh crore taka or 37.74 percent.
Planning Minister Abdus Salam, State Minister for Planning Shahiduzzaman Sarker and Planning Division Senior Secretary Satyajit Karmaker briefed reporters after the meeting.
