New DIG, Police Commissioner appointed in Sylhet range

New Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Commissioner of Metropolitan Police (SMP) have been appointed for the Sylhet range.

The decision was announced in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary of Home Affairs Mahabur Rahman Sheikh on Tuesday.

According to the notification, Md Rezaul Karim (PPM-Service) has been appointed as the new Commissioner of SMP, while Md Mushfekur Rahman has been appointed as DIG.

Rezaul Karim, previously the Additional DIG in the Anti-Terrorism Unit and former Superintendent of Police in Jhenaidah district, has been promoted to a new post.

Similarly, Md Mushfekur Rahman, who served as the SP of Dhaka Police SB, has also been promoted and assumed his new role.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam, the SMP Media Officer, confirmed the matter to Views Bangladesh.
