New Zealand achieved a remarkable victory against India by eight wickets in the first Test match held in Bengaluru. This win is significant, as it marks New Zealand's first Test victory in India since 1988. With this triumph, they have now won three Test matches in India overall.

Chasing a target of 107 runs, New Zealand faced some challenges in the first session on Day 5 but ultimately secured the win. Will Young and Rachin Ravindra both scored 40 runs, guiding their team to victory. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowled well for India, but the Kiwis managed to defend against them effectively.

In the first innings, New Zealand scored 402 runs, while India could only manage 46 runs in their first innings. Although India scored 462 runs in their second innings, the damage had already been done. New Zealand now leads the three-match series 1-0, with the next two Tests set to take place in Pune and Mumbai.
