No cattle markets allowed in Aftabnagar : Appellate division

The Supreme Court's Appellate Division has upheld the High Court's decision to suspend the lease notification for the establishment of cattle markets in capital's Aftabnagar on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

On Monday (June 3), a four-judge appellate bench, headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, issued the order.

Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque and Advocate SM Shamim Hossain moved for the writ petitioner.

Earlier on May 8, a bench of the High Court comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque suspended the lease notification for establishing temporary cattle markets at Aftabnagar.
