Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that there is no conspiracy threat in Dhaka ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the Gabtoli Bus Terminal on Saturday morning (March 29), he stated, "If any threats arise, they will be dealt with collectively by the authorities and the public."

He highlighted that while most people are on holiday during Eid, law enforcement agencies, including the police, BGB, and Ansar, are working to ensure strict security and maintain law and order.

Regarding transport fare monitoring, he noted that fare charts have been displayed at all counters, and passengers can report overcharging to the BRTA vigilance team or the police control room. Authorities have already taken action against two minor complaints.

He also emphasized the importance of ensuring rest for drivers to prevent road accidents and instructed transport owners to prioritize driver well-being for safer travel during Eid.

"Thanks to the government's initiatives, people can now travel home comfortably. We are working to ensure their safe journey to their destinations and back to Dhaka," the adviser added.
