OC Sayed arrested in connection with burning bodies in Ashulia
The then Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia police station AFM Sayed, accused of burning bodies after shooting 46 people dead in Ashulia during the recent student movement, has been arrested from Cox's Bazar.
He was arrested from Cox's Bazar and brought to Dhaka on Wednesday (October 30) night. Sayed has been kept in Shahbag police station.
Sayed will be produced before the International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday. There is an arrest warrant against him.
The Awami League government was ousted after Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country on August 5. On that afternoon, several videos of corpses being piled on a pick up and later burnt, caused an uproar across the country.
According to sources, AFM Sayed was directly involved as the director of the horrific incident.
