One must be careful while making opinions that may harm the country: Tarique
People and political parties must be cautious about their opinions to ensure they do not harm the country or its people, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman said on Monday.
"To take Bangladesh forward, it is essential to restore the democratic system through an election that ensures the country's progress," he said while addressing a gathering at Dubachuri Dimbukhi Dakhil Madrasa ground in Nilphamari.
"We may have differences of opinion, whether among parties or individuals. But we must ensure these differences do not escalate to a level that harms the country, its people, or its progress," he said.
Tarique made these remarks while handing over a new house to the family of Golam Rabbani, who was killed allegedly in a "crossfire" with Rab in Nilphamari in 2014.
Seeking prayers from the public, Tarique expressed his hope to return to the country very soon.
The eldest daughter of the deceased Golam Rabbani, Rawnak Jahan Rikta, spoke at the public meeting demanding justice for her father's murder.
Tarique Rahman said, we do not want any other person in the country to suffer the fate of Golam Rabbani.
Tarique Rahman asked the public for prayers, saying, 'Please pray that I can return to the country soon. That I can stand by the side of the distressed people again.'
