Operations resume at 599 police stations across Bangladesh
The Police Headquarters have announced that by 3:00pm on Sunday (August 11), 502 out of 529 police stations, including 97 out of 110 metropolitan police stations, had resumed operations, with 538 stations already providing services.
According to the Police Headquarters, most police stations currently handle one to two general diaries (GDs), with the number of users expected to increase gradually. The stations that were not attacked or suffered minimal damage are operational.
However, at the stations affected by attacks, vandalism, and arson, officers cannot yet return to work due to the extent of the damage. These stations are undergoing repairs to restore service delivery and ensure public safety.
Regarding the fact, the army personnel are actively assisting in the full renovation of these police stations.
On August 5, services were disrupted after the fall of the Hasina government, triggering widespread attacks on police stations nationwide.
