Parliament's second session scheduled for May 2

The 12th Parliament will reconvene for its second session on May 2 following a 58-day recess. The first session of the current parliament was prorogued on March 5.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Monday (April 15) summoned the 2nd session of the 12th parliament exercising the power bestowed upon him as per Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution.

This session will begin at 5:00pm on May 2 (Thursday), according to a parliament release.

As per the constitution, there must not be a period exceeding 60 days between the conclusion of one session and the commencement of the first sitting of Parliament in the subsequent session.
