A passenger plane crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday and initial reports suggested there were survivors, the Central Asian country's Emergencies Ministry said in a statement. The ministry said emergency services were trying to put out a fire at the crash site. Russian news agencies said the plane was operated by Azerbaijan Airlines and had been flying from Baku to Grozny in Russia's Chechnya, but had been rerouted due to fog in Grozny. There was no immediate comment from Azerbaijan Airlines. Azerbaijan Airlines said that 72 people were on board.

কাজাখস্তানে একটি যাত্রীবাহী বিমান বিধ্বস্ত হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৫ ডিসেম্বর) দেশটির আক্তাউ শহরের কাছে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। দুর্ঘটনার পর প্রাথমিক প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, বিধ্বস্ত বিমানের ভিতরে বেঁচে যাওয়া ব্যক্তিরা রয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় এক বিবৃতিতে কাজাখস্তানের জরুরি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় জানিয়েছে, দুর্ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আগুন নেভানোর কাজ করছে জরুরি সেবার কর্মীরা। রুশ সংবাদ সংস্থাগুলোর তথ্য অনুযায়ী, বিমানটি আজারবাইজান এয়ারলাইন্সের। এটি বাকু থেকে রাশিয়ার চেচনিয়ার গ্রোজনির দিকে যাচ্ছিল। তবে গ্রোজনিতে কুয়াশা থাকায় বিমানটি ভিন্ন রুটে যেতে বাধ্য হয়। আজারবাইজান এয়ারলাইন্সের পক্ষ থেকে এ বিষয়ে তাৎক্ষণিক কোনো মন্তব্য পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে সংস্থাটি জানিয়েছে, বিমানটিতে ৭২ জন যাত্রী ছিল।
