Petrol bomb thrown at Tanti Bazar puja mandap, 4 injured in stabbing
Tension erupted near the Tanti Bazar Puja Mandap in the capital after a woman's chain was snatched. While fleeing, the snatchers stabbed four people and threw a petrol bomb toward the Puja Mandap. However, the bomb did not explode.
The incident occurred around 8.00 pm on Friday (October 11).
Mohammad Enamul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the matter.
He said, "With the help of people present at the Puja Mandap, police arrested three snatchers—Akash (23), Hridoy (23), and Jibon (19)".
Four people were injured in the stabbing: Jhontu (45), Sagar (38), Khokon (35), and Britto (26). They were taken to Mitford Hospital for initial treatment, and treatment is ongoing."
Kotwali Police said that they recovered the unexploded petrol bomb from the scene. The situation at Tanti Bazar Puja Mandap is currently under control.
