Picchi Helal, Emon will be brought under the law soon: DB chief

Top terrorist Imamul Hasan alias Picchi Helal and another top terrorist Sanjidul Islam Emon, who were released on bail, will be brought under the law soon, said Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick.

He said this at a press conference organized at the DMP Media Center on Tuesday (January 14) afternoon.

In response to a question from journalists, Rezaul Karim Mallick said, we are paying special attention to ensure that the law and order situation remains normal. No terrorist will escape the purview of the law. Be it Picchi Helal or Emon. Our efforts are continuing to bring them under the law, they will definitely be arrested.

Recently, a case was filed against these two top terrorists on charges of murder and robbery. Most recently, Emon was made the number one accused in the incident of hacking and injuring two businessmen of Multiplan on Elephant Road.

The DB chief said in his speech, no extortionists or robbers will have a place in this country. The police will crack down on them with a strong hand. Intelligence surveillance has been increased in various places including the capital. In the last 24 hours, the DB police have arrested 27 people from Dhaka. During this time, guns, foreign pistols, magazines and bullets have been recovered.

The additional police commissioner said, I personally am not afraid of bloodshed to bring any criminal under the law. As long as I work, I will remain in the service of the country and the people. I have never bowed my head to injustice, and I will not do so in the future. I have nothing to lose. On August 5, the students and the public freed us from the torture and abuse that we endured in the police for 18 years. For this, I am sincerely grateful to the students and the public.
