Plea for filing case against 344 former MPs including Sheikh Hasina

An attempt to murder case filing plea has been submitted against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 344 former parliament members.

A garment worker participating in the anti-discrimination student movement filed the application with the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Tuesday.

The plaintiff's lawyer said that garment worker Aladul Islam was shot in front of Ashulia police station near Dhaka around 2 pm on August 5. Local people took him to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. He was later admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

The court has ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate whether any case has been filed in the shooting incident of garment worker Aladul and submit a report within 20 working days.

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, former Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, former ministers Tipu Munshi, Farhad Hossain, former MPs Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Abdul Latif Siddiqui and many others have been requested to be included as the accused. Apart from them, the plaintiff has requested to include 119 more people as suspects.
