PM congratulates Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated Narendra Modi on the victory of the BJP-led NDA alliance in the Indian Lok Sabha elections.

In a letter sent to Narendra Modi on Tuesday (June 4), she conveyed her greetings on behalf of the people of Bangladesh.

BJP has won 240 seats in this election. However, the party will not have any problem in forming the government, because other parties of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have collectively won a total of 53 seats. As a result, BJP can easily form the government with a total of 293 MPs from the party and alliance.

The Election Commission announced the results of India's 18th Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (June 4). Voting for this election was held in seven phases from April 19 to May 31 in 28 states and eight Union Territories of India.
