PM for Sri Lanka's investment in tourism sector
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought Sri Lankan investment in Bangladesh's tourism sector for the mutual benefit of both countries.
She made the call during a courtesy meeting with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi on Monday (June 10) morning.
The two leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony of India's newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
After the meeting, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud told reporters, “Since Sri Lanka is far ahead in the tourism sector, the meeting discussed how the country's investment can come to Bangladesh in the sector.”
He said the two leaders discussed in detail about mutual cooperation in agriculture and maritime sector.
Hasan Mahmud said, "The meeting was a courtesy meeting, but the overall aspects of bilateral relations were discussed in detail."
The Sri Lankan President thanked the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for providing financial support to his country during the crisis.
Sheikh Hasina invited Wickramasinghe to visit Bangladesh.
