Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the demise of Md. Abdul Hyee, Member of Parliament (MP) from Jhenaidah-I constituency and District Awami League President. In a message of condolence, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family. Earlier, Abdul Hyee, Jhenaidah-1 constituency MP and president of the district Awami League, has died. He was 71. He breathed his last at 7:00 am (local time) on Saturday at the Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand. His personal assistant Shahidul Islam confirmed his death from Thailand.

ঝিনাইদহ-১ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য (এমপি) ও জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি মো. আবদুল হাইয়ের মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক ও দুঃখ প্রকাশ করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। এক শোক বার্তায় তিনি মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করেন এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের সদস্যদের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানান। গত ৭ জানুয়ারি জাতীয় নির্বাচনের ভোটের পর লিভার সিরোসিস ও ফুসফুসে নিউমোনিয়া নিয়ে ঢাকা ল্যাবএইড হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন আবদুল হাই। এরপর গত ১৮ জানুয়ারি উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য তিনি থাইল্যান্ডের বামরুদগ্রাদ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন। বেশ কিছুদিন লাইফ সাপোর্টে থাকার পর আজ শনিবার সকালে মারা যান তিনি।&nbsp;মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৭২ বছর।
