PM orders to monitor Middle East situation
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the authorities concerned to keep an eye on the volatile Middle East situation after Iran's attack on Israel.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain said this at a press briefing at the Secretariat after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday (April 17) afternoon. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office.
Mahbub Hossain said that the Prime Minister has ordered to keep a sharp eye on the reality that is being created in the Middle East. She also ordered to take a coordinated plan to deal with the situation.
The cabinet secretary said that the premier ordered to prepare an outline of how to deal with any adverse situation in the import of essential commodities including fuel oil.
Mahbub Hossain said that the cabinet has given final approval to the draft Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority Act-2024 to provide institutional support to domestic and foreign investments. This approval was given in the Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.
The cabinet secretary said that a total of 55,968 acres of land will be allocated for the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority.
