PM promises to build Sonar Bangla
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reiterated her promise to make Bangladesh a prosperous Sonar Bangla in the spirit of independence. The premier wrote about this promise in the visitors' book at the premises of the National Memorial on Tuesday (March 26) after paying tribute to the brave martyrs of 1971.
In the visitors' book, the Prime Minister wrote, 'Today, March 26, is the great independence and national day of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. On this day, I remember Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time and father of the nation, with utmost respect. I pay my respects to the martyrs of Bangladesh's liberation war and to the mothers and sisters who were victimized by the Pakistani occupation forces. With a heavy heart, I remember my mother Begum Fazilatun Nesa and my three younger brothers Kamal, Jamal, Rasel, who were martyred on August 15, 1975, by the merciless bullets of the assassins."
Prime Minister also paid tribute to four national leaders who were brutally murdered in Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975.
The Prime Minister wrote, 'Today, on this great day, we pledge to make Bangladesh a prosperous Sonar Bangla in the spirit of independence."
