Policies will be formulated for physicians in marginal areas

Specific policies will be formulated to protect and prioritize the doctors working in marginal areas, says Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen.

He said, "All relevant topics like how long S/he will stay in the marginal area, training, promotion and all the facilities will be mentioned in the policy."

He said this at the seminar organized by Bangladesh Neurologist Society at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall in the capital on Tuesday.

The minister said that the country’s medical sector will see remarkable progress if the medical services for the marginalized people can be improved.

He urged the young physicians to serve the people of rural areas.

State Minister for Health Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Health Secretary Jahangir Alam, Director General of DGHS Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of Medical Education Titu Miah and others were present.
