Prof Anu Muhammad is out of danger: Health Minister
Economist Anu Muhammad is now undergoing treatment has at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for advanced medical care. He is in stable condition and is under constant observation. The Prime Minister consistently keeps an eye on his treatment, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen.
The minister made the remarks while speaking to reporters following a visit to the institute round around 12:30 pm on Monday (April 22) where he met with Professor Anu Muhammad.
Samanta Lal Sen also said, "A medical board has been formed for his treatment. He will undergo tests shortly, followed by a surgical procedure on his leg. We're hopeful for a swift return to his workplace."
At this time, the health minister advised everyone to be aware and safe regarding the severe heatstroke across the country. He said, "Various preparations have been made to deal with this situation. Hospitals and civil surgeons across the country were spoken to via Zoom yesterday. It has been advised to delay the operation of other patients except emergency patients."
Earlier on Sunday (21 April), Professor Anu Muhammad suffered the severing of his left leg's toes in a train accident in the capital's Khilgaon area. The accident took place around 11.00am as he disembarked from a train returning from Dinajpur.
