Quader requests quota protesters to return to classrooms

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called upon the protesting students to return to their respective institutions.

Addressing the demonstrators, he said: "Go back to your classrooms obeying the directives of the apex court."

Noting that the Appellate Division will deliver the justice, he requested the students to stop the ongoing protest programmes.

He made this request in a press conference at the Dhanmondi political office of the Awami League president on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has issued a status quo on the High Court's judgment to reinstate the freedom fighter quota system for first and second-class government jobs.

The full bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan passed the order responding to two separate pleas.

Lawyers said that now there will be no activities on this issue for a month. It'll remain as it is.
