Quota protesters to hold processions on all university campuses Tuesday
Students demanding reforms in the government quota system announced on Monday that protest processions would be held on Tuesday at all university campuses across Bangladesh.
At a press briefing on the Dhaka University campus, Nahid Islam, a co-coordinator of the Students Movement Against Discrimination, described the attack on protesting students as "pre-planned" by the police and the ruling party’s student organization to undermine the students' movement and their "just demand."
He announced that they would organize a procession and rally on Tuesday at 3:00 pm to protest the attack on student demonstrators, demand quota reform, and call for the withdrawal of the prime minister’s remarks on quota protesters.
He urged the public and students from all educational institutions across Bangladesh to take to the streets to support their movement.
