RAB's new DG Harun Or Rashid

Additional Inspector General of Police Barrister Md Harun or Rashid has been appointed as the tenth Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

He will replace the current Director General M Khurshid Hossain, according to a notification issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday (May 29).

The notification issued by order of the President was signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahabub Rahman Sheikh.

Khurshid Hossain has been retired in a separate order.

The notification said Additional Inspector General of Police Barrister Md Harun Or Rashid has been appointed as director general of RAB. This order issued in public interest will be effective from June 5. He will replace the current Director General M Khurshid Hossain.

Harun hailed from Mollakandi village at Baluchar union under Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj. Currently he is working as Additional Inspector General of Police in Dhaka. He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 15th BCS Police Cadre in 1995.
