Rain forecasted in six divisions
The sky of the capital is cloudy since this morning. Before this, the people of Dhaka have experienced a heat wave for several days.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological office has predicted rain in some parts of the country. Due to rain, the day temperature may drop a bit, according to a meteorological Department notification on Friday evening (May 17)
The notification provided forecast for the next 72 hours. Regarding the synoptic conditions, it said the extension of western low pressure extends from West Bengal to Northwest Bay of Bengal.
According to the forecast, there may be temporary rain or thunder with gusty winds in some places of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and one or two places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Barishal divisions, along with scattered hailstones at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is likely to remain mainly cloudy with partly cloudy skies.
Regarding the heat wave, it said mild to moderate heat wave is flowing over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions along with Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur and Feni districts and it may continue.
Besides, the day temperature may decrease slightly in the eastern part of the country and it may remain almost unchanged elsewhere. Night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapour may cause discomfort.
