Rain likely in parts of the country, temperature may drop
Cyclone 'Migjaum' is over but it may rain in different parts of Bangladesh, said the Meteorological Department. Apart from this, it has been informed that night and day temperature may decrease by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius across the country.
The forecast for the next 24 hours at 9 am on Wednesday (December 6) has said that there may be light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds at many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at two places in Rangpur division. Also, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.
It also said that over Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions, rain or thundershower with gusty wind at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour will occur temporarily from the east or northeast direction. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
It is reported that the severe cyclone 'Migjaum', located in the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast of India on Tuesday afternoon. Presently it is located as a distinct low pressure over North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. However, the cyclone may move further north inland and gradually weaken with rain showers.
