Rain may continue across country, temperature expected to drop
Dhaka's skies were overcast from Saturday morning, with heavy rain pouring down on the capital for an hour and a half. The temperature has also slightly decreased. According to the Meteorological Department, these conditions are likely to persist for at least the next three days across the country.
In the morning forecast from the Directorate today, it's predicted that certain areas of Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet divisions may experience rain accompanied by gusty or stormy winds, or thunderstorms. Additionally, Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions could also see rainfall in isolated spots. Hail is also a possibility in scattered areas.
The Meteorological Office forecasts fluctuating rainfall across all eight divisions of the country until next Monday. The temperature might decrease alongside the rain, but it's expected to rise again post-Monday.
According to the forecast signed by Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Md Omar Farooq, the western low-pressure system is stretching from West Bengal to the Northwest Bay of Bengal.
Over the past 24 hours until 6 am on Saturday, Tangail experienced the highest rainfall in the country at 49 mm, while Mongla recorded a maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius.
